Una storia di famiglia

Oil Academy. A family story.

The Fois Agricultural Company was born in the mid-1800s cultivating its own estates in the countryside of Alghero, with the passing of the generations came the specialization in olive growing. 2000 is the turning point in which Giuseppe Fois involves his sons Alessandro and Antonello in the family business which thus becomes the Accademia Olearia. Today the company continues to be managed, with dedication and passion, personally by the Fois family who directly follow all the processing phases, from the cultivation of the olives to their transformation into quality extra virgin olive oil.

It currently boasts an extension of about 250 hectares of olive groves with about 28,000 olive trees, mainly of Bosana cultivars, integrated by the presence of other native and national cultivars, with the aim of improving and enriching the organoleptic and qualitative characteristics of the oils produced. , operates in a modern factory of over 4,000 square meters and uses the most advanced and innovative extraction methods, capable of guaranteeing a high quality product while respecting the raw material.

The plant was built with particular attention to the protection of the environment. The company has in fact adopted alternative energy sources, such as photovoltaics for electricity and the use of olive processing residues (the pits), for the production of hot water and company heating in the winter months.

Currently, Accademia Olearia is the reference producer for Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Protected Designation of Origin on the island both in terms of quality and quantity.
